1. Who we are

PawsGrad is an independent pet sitting marketplace that connects pet owners with verified university students in Davis, California. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@pawsgrad.com.

2. What we collect

For pet owners: your name, email address, phone number, pet details, care dates, and proposed rate. For sitters: your name, university email address, program, year of study, and the types of pets you can sit. We do not collect payment card details — fees are handled through Venmo or Zelle.

3. How we use it

To match you with the right owner or sitter, to verify student status, to communicate about your booking, and to improve how our platform works. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We share your contact details only with your confirmed match, and only after payment has been received. We work with the following third-party service providers who are contractually required to protect your data:

• Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com)
• Flodesk — email marketing and subscriber management (flodesk.com)
• Vercel — website hosting and infrastructure (vercel.com)

We will share information with law enforcement only if legally required. We never sell your data.

5. Your California rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what data we hold about you, to request we delete it within 30 days, and to opt out of any sale of your data (we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, email hello@pawsgrad.com with the subject line "Privacy Request."

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your information as long as needed to provide our service. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so within 30 days.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

8. Children

PawsGrad is not for anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact hello@pawsgrad.com immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will update the date above when we do. Continued use of PawsGrad means you accept any changes.

10. Independent contractor notice

Sitters are independent contractors, not employees of PawsGrad. PawsGrad is a matching platform only and is not responsible for the actions of sitters or owners during or after a booking.
